Preview Sunderland vs Liverpool
With Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool both looking for their first win in the league, the Reds will be determined and more than relieved to get the 3 points as they travel to the 'Stadium of Light' in a clash against Sunderland. The mood in Liverpool has been rather positive as Hillsborough disaster has been brought to justice and the Reds would like nothing more than a win to commerate this 'achievement'. Joe Allen has also recovered from illness which had disrupted his international duty and Jose Enrique knee problem will be assessed by today.
Things have been rather good in Liverpool, but with Brendan Rodgers under massive the pressure the Reds must be able to secure 3 points if they want to keep their top 4 hopes alive. The boss is also confident that young boy Raheem Sterling can handle pressure and is a shining example to youngsters. However, Rodgers harbours concerns that the lavish rewards on offer to emerging players can destroy their careers.
The boss added, "After i spoke to Roy and I had got through to Raheem, my next call was to his agent. I wanted to make sure he wasn't jumping in the car up to Liverpool to have a chat with me. I wanted to manage the expectation of the kid. The last thing we need is Sky Sports saying he has signed a five-year contract after two games. "
Sunderland on the other hand, had a fanatstic result against Swansea with new signing Steven Fletcher scoring two goals. However, Adam Johnson is fighting to retain his place in the starting line up after returning injured from international duty.

Both teams looking for first win
What a busy day for Liverpool yesterday.Liverpool were drawned in a tough group in the Europa League with Udinese,Anzhi and Young boys in the same group as them. Not only that, Liverpool sold Charlie Adam and Nathan Eccleston to Stoke City and Blackpool respectively and of course Andy Carroll being loaned to West Ham.However the main focus is still the Sunday showdown against Arsenal. Both teams will be eager to win this game as both teams are yet to win this season.
.Arsenal are yet to score a goal this season but, their back four looks solid so far with two clean sheets in their first two matches. The problem for them Podolski and Giroud have to perform .There are big shoes to fill upfront after the departure of Van Persie. Santi Cazorla has been impressive. The gunners has a lack of finishing missing a few glorious chances against Sunderland and Stoke City.Apparently, Arsenal have the worst accuracy this season.
Liverpool on the other hand have failed to sign a replacement for Big Andy on the transfer deadline day.Nevertheless, the Mighty Reds would love to secure their first win infront of the Kop.New signing Nuri Sahin will most likely start the match with Lucas sidelined.
A win would move Liverpool up with four points heading to a two week international match break-a reasonable start in the quest for a top-four finish according to Enrique.
He said, "We have just one point in the league at this moment, but Real Madrid started the same way- it doesn't mean anything yet."
" If we win, it will be a positive message to everyone.Four points in three games two of which were against Manchester City and arsenal is okay I think," added the Spanish fullback.
Expect a tight encounter.
Predictions: Liverpool 2-0 Arsenal
